Kitchen lighting is important too when considering design. You may want to make some changes to your fixtures or work with existing ideas. But remember a kitchen is a working room, so too much style and not enough substance will cause problems here.

And of course kitchen cabinetry are often the darlings of kitchen design. They can be cheaper to buy if you assemble them yourself, but this way you have less choice of sizes, finishes and options. Custom built cabinets can be a great idea for any kitchen, to get those perfect fits, if your budget can afford them.

Some like their kitchen to be designed with everything matching, whilst others prefer contrasting and complimentary themes. Whatever your choice, remember that wall and floor coverings will affect your kitchen greatly as well.
